Would just like to say - when The Devonshire first opened I had a fabulous roast - one of the best I've had for a long time.
HOWEVER, how standards have slipped!
Went back on sunday for roasts with my boyfriend and the food was appalling.

We ordered roast beef and roast lamb to enjoy in the sunny beer garden - not only was it 45 mins in the getting, it was finally served minus cutlery and condiments which we had to wait a further 5 minutes for!

The beef, apart from being very stingy on the portioning, was dry and tough with a consistency akin to cardboard - I suspect it had been left under the hotplate too long. The lamb was equally dire. Tiny portion, mainly fat and drowned in a thicky gloopy gravy.

The vegetables were underdone, the potatoes overdone and collapsing on the plate and the general experience not one I would wish to repeat not wish on anyone else. Maybe you should try the restaurant on weekday.
